GUJO HACHIMAN YANA
A “yana” is a device or structure made of wooden stakes or bamboo that is used to dam the flow of a river to catch ayu and other fish.
At Gujo Hachiman Yana, enjoy the wonderful location of the clear Nagara River and “natural Gujo ayu” cuisine to your heart's content.
Yana fishing begins in August. You can enjoy the view of the Nagara River and the power of the “yana” by going down to the yana fishing spot.

This is a popular experience spot unique to Gujo Hachiman where you can make realistic-looking tempura and parfaits with your own hands. A variety of workshops are available, ranging from authentic workshops where artisans teach you how to make your own food samples to casual workshops that even children can enjoy. The one-of-a-kind food samples are perfect as a memento of your trip. The museum also has a store and gallery, making it an experience facility that can be enjoyed three times over: seeing, making, and taking home.

Gujo Hachiman Old Town Hall Memorial Hall
The streets along the waterway lined with traditional townhouses are a strolling spot full of Edo atmosphere.
The Gujo Hachiman Old Town Hall Memorial Hall, located in the center of the city as the old town hall of Yawata Town Hall, is a Western-style building constructed in 1936, a two-story wooden structure with a floor space of approximately 800 m2. The exterior walls are clad in wooden planks with neat vertical windows, and the roof is constructed using the truss method, which was the latest technology at the time.

Gujo Hachiman Castle
Gujo Hachiman Castle is a historic mountain castle located in Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture. The first castle construction dates back to the Warring States Period, and the current keep was rebuilt in 1933 using traditional Japanese wooden construction. It is said to be the oldest reconstructed wooden castle tower in Japan and attracts many tourists for its beautiful appearance and historical value.

YOSHIDA River
The Yoshida River is a clear stream that flows through Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture, and is characterized by its clear water quality and rich nature. Along the river, beautiful valleys and lush forests spread out, and in summer, the river is crowded with people enjoying fishing for sweetfish and playing in the river. In the fall, the autumn colors of the leaves on the river attract visitors with their seasonal beauty.
